Welcome from the Chairman

Pupils at Ormiston Academies Trust

I am very pleased to welcome your expression of interest in the positions advertised on this site. I hope this information site will be helpful to you and convey exactly what we are looking for –  exceptional leaders who share our vision and who are fully committed to excellence in all aspects of teaching and learning for the benefit of all our students and their families.

Strong and aspirational leadership is central to our academies’ success. While we place great store by developing our own cadre of aspiring senior leaders, we also want to attract high-quality individuals (with experience of raising aspirations and ensuring the highest standards of performance and behaviour) who are working in other schools and Trusts.

Our philosophy is one of continuous improvement, driven by a profound moral purpose: we are determined to become the Trust that makes the biggest difference, both inside and outside the classroom. Achievement is always locally led but regionally and nationally governed, encouraged and supported, and the OAT approach seeks to combine a highly specialised hub with inspirational regional and institutional leadership.

Individual academy leaders are trusted to make decisions based on their expertise and knowledge of their school. The small and expert central team works closely with academy principals and local governing bodies directly through a wide network of regional and local advisors.

OAT has always tackled the toughest challenges in education, and we want even more children and young people to benefit from the high-quality education within our network. Those who thrive at OAT share our values, can demonstrate an ability to achieve outstanding student outcomes, and will strain every sinew to make the greatest possible difference to the lives of the young people at our academies.
